Stitch 105: Cross Stitch

Cross stitch is an easy to learn embroidery technique that uses a gridded chart and uniform stitches to create the design. In class we will discuss how to read and interpret a chart, determine what fabric to use and the best methods to stitch your design. We will go over finishing techniques including how to display your design on its own or incorporate it into larger project. We will also discuss the similarities and differences between cross stitch and needlepoint. Once you learn the basics, you will be ready to explore the wide range of designs from traditional to pop culture and confidently stitch your next project.
You will start your cross stitch project in class and finish it up on your own.
