SUMMARY:Garment 219: Quilted Vest (Series 1/2)
DESCRIPTION:*** This is the first day of a two day class that takes place on October 6th & 13th.*** \nTo attend this class please register below. Unfortunately\, it isn’t possible to attend class on a single day out of a series. \nAre you a garment maker who’s curious about quilting but not ready to dive in headfirst? Or maybe you’re a quilter who has too many quilts and is looking for another way to display your piecing? Quilted vests are a wonderful way to combine both arts to create a truly unique garment without feeling overwhelmed with new techniques. Depending on your skill background\, you can include a quilt block\, piecing or yardage. \nIf you’ve never quilted before\, the easiest way to start is by using yardage with a fun print. You will learn the basics of making a “quilt sandwich” and sewing all the layers together. \nIf you’ve done some quilting\, you can incorporate a quilt block into the back of your vest. Vest size will determine how large a block you can use\, but it should be about 8-12 inches finished. \nIf you’ve done a lot of quilting\, you can piece larger sections such as the pockets or even the entire vest. \nOn the first day of class we will discuss batting types\, quilting techniques and answer any questions about which vest type is best for your skill set – quilt block\, piecing or yardage. We will start quilting our vests and making bias tape; if you don’t finish during class\, that will be your homework to complete before day two. \nOn the second day we will sew our vests together using bias tape to achieve a beautiful seam finish that will allow your vest to be reversible. We will cover how to finish your binding by hand and machine as well as how to keep your seam allowances smooth and flat. Construction techniques for quilted jackets will be discussed as well. \nSKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE \nPREREQUISITE: Garment 201 or equivalent experience. \nYou should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed a few projects. You should be comfortable taking your measurements and using those to read the back of the pattern to determine the necessary supply amounts. Please email erin@pacificfabrics.com if you are unsure if your skill level is appropriate. \nOur elevator is available Tuesday through Friday 10:00 am – 2:30 pm only. \nFind your SUPPLY LIST HERE! \nBefore you register\, please CLICK HERE to read all of our class policies. \nClass fees are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the store. \nDue to changes in Washington State tax law (ESSB 5814) live presentations\, including classes\, are now subject to sales tax. \nYou will receive a 20% discount for your class supplies with your registration receipt. (Gift cards\, classes and services are excluded. Cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions)

SUMMARY:Quiltbound Chapter #206 Meeting
DESCRIPTION:October Badge: Midnight Quilter \n \nThe Midnight Quilter Badge celebrates those sewing sessions that happen after the rest of the house gets quiet and the project suddenly starts whispering\, “just one more seam.” This badge honors the slightly chaotic magic of quilting after dark\, whether you stayed up late by accident\, by choice\, or because binding apparently has no respect for bedtime. \nHere in the PNW doing just about anything after dark is pretty much the norm this time of year. (Welcome back Big Dark.) It’s also when sewing of all kinds ramps up a bit more as we work on holiday projects starting with Halloween. And while we probably should have started them back in the summer\, we now have fast approaching deadlines which can lead to more late night sewing. Also sometimes you get so involved with a project time no longer has meaning. \nWe will go over best strategies for successful sewing when both natural light and energy are lacking ranging from supplies\, tools and tasks that work best plus when to finally admit defeat for the night. And what is a meeting in October without mentioning Spooky Season? I will highlight some quick Halloween projects plus ones for Autumn and/or Thanksgiving. \nFeel free to keep bringing in fabric and scraps to each meeting to share and/or swap. Anything that isn’t claimed will be donated to Project Linus. \nQuiltbound is a creative quilting world for adventurous makers — a place to learn new skills\, make meaningful projects\, find your people\, and take the scenic route through quilting. Along the way you’ll earn badges as you complete themed challenges\, try new techniques\, and explore different areas of quilting. Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or just starting out\, there’s something for everyone! \nEach month is a badge based quilting adventure designed to help you build skills\, stay motivated and celebrate progress – without pressure or perfection.  Each  Chapter meeting is a local gathering of quilters who want more than just finishing projects—they want connection\, creativity\, and a reason to show up. \nWhy should you join? Quilting is more fun with friends\, goals\, and a little adventure! Start your journey today and stitch your way to badge-worthy achievements! \nMeetings will take place on the second Saturday OR third Thursday at 10:30 each month. Please remember to sign up for each month’s meeting. \nPlease remember that meetings are exclusively for Quilt Scout members and you need to be current on your national dues. \nDue to changes in Washington State tax law (ESSB 5814) live presentations\, including classes\, are now subject to sales tax. \nIf you would like to bring a guest\, you will need register for both of you. Guests are allowed to attend a single meeting before signing up with the national organization. Meeting fees are in addition to your national dues. \nLearn more about Quiltbound and join here. \nWhat You’ll Get as a Quiltbound Member \n\nExclusive tutorials and patterns\nMonthly Show-and-Tell Sessions where you can share your projects and gain inspiration.\nEarn Your Badges as you master new quilting challenges.\nExclusive opportunities and discounts at Pacific Fabrics just for Chapter #206 members.

SUMMARY:Cosplay 201: Kigurumi (Series 1/2)
DESCRIPTION:*** This is the first day of a two day class that takes place on October 17th & 24th.*** \nTo attend this class please register below. Unfortunately\, it isn’t possible to attend class on a single day out of a series. \nAre you interesting in getting started with cosplay or just want a fun animal onesie to wear? The Kigurumi pattern from //Cut/Sew is a great place to start. It includes pattern pieces to make a cat\, rabbit or bear\, however during class we will discuss how to use it as a base for other animals. \nOn the first day we cut out our patterns and if wanted\, make modifications to personalize your project. This may include creating additional pattern pieces for other animals\, such as a fox store sample. You will also have the chance to try it on to decide if you want to make any adjustments to how it fits. (Please note that the suit is supposed to have a loose fit.) We will next start cutting out your fabric\, paying attention to grainline and if your fabric has additional attributes to pay attention to during cutting. \nOn the second day we will continue working on our onesies\, sewing the pieces together and making adjustments as necessary. We will discuss seam finishes and techniques to both make the process easier and give you an amazing looking result. \n*If you would like facial details on your hood to be embroidered\, you will learn more about the options after signing up for class. Please note this is exclusive to the class and is not part of the ongoing embroidery services we offer. \nPrerequisite: Garment 201 or equivalent experience. \nSKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE \nPREREQUISITE: Garment 201 or equivalent experience. \nYou should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed a few projects. You should be comfortable taking your measurements and using those to read the back of the pattern to determine the necessary supply amounts. SUMMARY:Garment 204: Flat Front Pants & Shorts (Series 1/2)
DESCRIPTION:*** This is the first day of a two day class that takes place on Thursday\, October 22nd & 29th *** \nTo attend this class please register below. Unfortunately\, it isn’t possible to attend class on a single day out of a series. \nThe Pietra and Emerson pants & shorts are the best of both worlds; a flat front\, mid or high-waisted silhouette with the comfort of an elastic waist in the back. Both patterns give you a polished look and are so comfortable you’ll never want to take them off. The Ramblers are designed specifically for men and include the same pull-on comfort and an elastic waistband that extends all the way around. \nThe Pietras feature lengthening panels in the front with slanted hip pockets and a hidden waist stay. Choose between four leg styles: a wide leg in floor-skimming or cropped length\, a slim and tapered leg\, or gently flared shorts. \nThe Emersons have front pleats and slanted side pockets with the option of a mid rise that hits just below the natural waist or a high rise that sits over the belly button. Choose between shorts or a cropped wide leg. You can also learn how to alter the pattern into full length pants. \nThe Ramblers were designed to be loose without being baggy and feature a faux fly\, slightly tapered legs\, slanted side pockets and back patch pockets. They also include a built-in belt and optional side patch pockets. \nFit is always important\, especially with pants\, so we will start off the first day of class sewing a test version to try on and see if any adjustments are needed to be made to the pattern to fit you better. SUMMARY:Cosplay 201: Kigurumi (Series 2/2)
DESCRIPTION:*** This is the last day of a two day class that takes place on October 17th & 24th.*** \nTo attend this class please CLICK HERE to sign up. \n* If you would like facial details on your hood to be embroidered\, you will learn more about the options after signing up for class. Please note this is exclusive to the class and is not part of the ongoing embroidery services we offer. SUMMARY:Garment 204/ Flat Front Pants & Shorts (Series 2/2)
DESCRIPTION:*** This is the last day of a two day class that takes place on Thursday\, October 22nd & 29th *** \nTo attend this class please CLICK HERE to sign up. Once we’re satisfied with the fit\, we will start working on our final versions confident that when completed our pants (or shorts) will look amazing. \nSKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE\nYou should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed several garments. You should be comfortable taking your measurements and using those to read the back of the pattern to determine the necessary supply amounts. Please email erin@pacificfabrics.com if you are unsure if your skill level is appropriate. \nPREREQUISITE: Garment 201 or equivalent experience.\n\nOur elevator is available Tuesday through Friday 10:00 am – 2:30 pm only.
