Focus block #1 is a block that can be used as a pillow cover, a table runner, or quilts in various sizes. This block uses a focus fabric and several other fabrics of the quilter’s choice. In this class we will be making a lap sized quilt (40” x 40”) and use several free motion quilting techniques to finish it.
On the first day we will discuss color, point matching and corner triangles. After discussing color and the basic block construction students will create a sample block to familiarize themselves with the process. Afterwards we will head out into the store to select our fabrics and complete a block or two (or more). Supplies for sample block are included with the class.
On the second day we will discuss and practice several forms of free motion quilting so participants can complete their masterpieces.
