Garment 202: Wilder Gown & Remy Raglan

After easing into garment sewing with PJ pants, it’s time to make something for the top half of your body. The Wilder gown and Remy raglan both have a relaxed fit and simple construction to help ensure you end up with a successful garment. You can make a top or if you’re feeling a bit adventurous, add some gathered tiers and end up with a flowy dress. Both have raglan sleeves and the option to make them ¾ or short. The Wilder gown ties at the neck and the Remy has either a simple scoop neckline or a keyhole closure. Either way you will end up with a top (or dress) that is comfortable to wear with options to make versions that you can wear all year long.

You should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed a few projects. You should be comfortable taking your measurements and using those to read the back of the pattern to determine the necessary supply amounts. Please email if you are unsure if your skill level is appropriate.

PREREQUISITE: Garment 201 or equivalent experience.

Instructor: Erin Hubner
Instructor Bio: Erin learned to sew as a kid and was always crafty but didn't really get fully into sewing until after college. After making a few rather involved Halloween costumes she realized she could make clothes to wear every day, not just at the end of October. Eventually this led to her going back to school for fashion design and construction and teaching classes for over 6 years. Her main focus may be garment sewing, but she has also worked on accessories, home decor and quilting. Basically, if it involves fabric, thread, yarn, or other similar craft supplies she probably does it on a semi regular basis. Except projects involving hot glue, she does try to stay away from those.
