SUMMARY:Garment 304: Outerwear Saturday (Session 5/5)
DESCRIPTION:***This is the last class of a series of five sessions. Class takes place on Saturday\, January 18th\, February 15th\, March 22nd & 29th and April 5th from 10:30 am – 3:30.*** \nClick here to sign up for the series. \nUnfortunately\, it isn’t possible to attend class on a single day out of a series or sign up after the first session. \nOuterwear can be one of the most intimidating garment categories as you tend to wear it more often than other garments and yet few projects give you the same level of satisfaction upon completion. From working on fit to the sheer number of pieces you need to cut out\, you will learn how to construct your coat and keep the entire process as streamlined and organized as possible. We will be focusing on speed tailoring and using fusible interfacing during construction. \nThe format of this class is different from what we usually offer as it doesn’t entirely happen on consecutive weeks to allow you additional time to complete your homework. Class is a total of 5 days plus a project consultation for over 25 hours of in depth instruction. The first couple days will focus on altering your muslins to better fit you and transferring those changes back to the pattern pieces. During the remaining days we will work on your coats. In addition\, you will need to meet with the instructor ahead of the first class for assistance with determining what size to make (think about what layers you may want to wear under your coat)\, fabric choice and what pieces you will need to cut out in muslin for the first class when we start working on fit. (It’s not all of them.) \nSKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED \nPREREQUISITE: Permission of the instructor. Email erin@pacificfabrics.com to ensure you are at the correct skill level. If you are\, you will be given instructions on how to sign up. \nYou should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed several projects. You should be comfortable taking your measurements and using those to read the back of the pattern to determine the necessary supply amounts. Please email erin@pacificfabrics.com if you are unsure if your skill level is appropriate. \nOur elevator is available Tuesday through Friday 10:00 am – 2:30 pm only. \nFind your SUPPLY LIST HERE! \nBefore you register\, please CLICK HERE to read all of our class policies. \nClass fees are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the store. \nYou will receive a 20% discount for your class supplies with your registration receipt. (Gift cards\, classes and services are excluded. Cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions)

SUMMARY:Garment 204: Flat Front Pants & Shorts (Series 1/2)
DESCRIPTION:*** This is the first day of a two day class that takes place on Saturday\, April 19th & 26th *** \nTo attend this class please register below. Unfortunately\, it isn’t possible to attend class on a single day out of a series. \nThe Pietra and Emerson pants & shorts are the best of both worlds; a flat front\, mid or high-waisted silhouette with the comfort of an elastic waist in the back. Both patterns give you a polished look and are so comfortable you’ll never want to take them off. The Ramblers are designed specifically for men and include the same pull-on comfort and an elastic waistband that extends all the way around. \nThe Pietras feature lengthening panels in the front with slanted hip pockets and a hidden waist stay. Choose between four leg styles: a wide leg in floor-skimming or cropped length\, a slim and tapered leg\, or gently flared shorts. \nThe Emersons have front pleats and slanted side pockets with the option of a mid rise that hits just below the natural waist or a high rise that sits over the belly button. Choose between shorts or a cropped wide leg. You can also learn how to alter the pattern into full length pants. \nThe Ramblers were designed to be loose without being baggy and feature a faux fly\, slightly tapered legs\, slanted side pockets and back patch pockets. They also include a built-in belt and optional side patch pockets. \nFit is always important\, especially with pants\, so we will start off the first day of class sewing a test version to try on and see if any adjustments are needed to be made to the pattern to fit you better. Once we’re satisfied with the fit\, we will start working on our final versions confident that when completed our pants (or shorts) will look amazing. \nSKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE\nYou should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed several garments. You should be comfortable taking your measurements and using those to read the back of the pattern to determine the necessary supply amounts. Please email erin@pacificfabrics.com if you are unsure if your skill level is appropriate. \nPREREQUISITE: Garment 201 or equivalent experience.\n\nOur elevator is available Tuesday through Friday 10:00 am – 2:30 pm only. \nFind your SUPPLY LIST HERE! \nBefore you register\, please CLICK HERE to read all of our class policies. \nClass fees are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the store. \nYou will receive a 20% discount for your class supplies with your registration receipt. SUMMARY:Sewing 108: Confetti Pouch
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to make a fun confetti pouch and (finally!) have a use for all those tiny scraps of fabric you can’t bring yourself to throw out. You will learn how to layer your fabrics and quilt the front. The pouch is fully lined and includes zipper tabs and panels that makes the zipper easy to install. \nFor this project no scrap is truly too small\, and you may find yourself cutting them up even smaller to achieve the look you want. Almost any type of woven fabric will work as long as it isn’t too thick. The organza layer will tone down the colors so don’t worry about any being too bright. In class we will pool our scraps together for more variety. \nIf you would like to add some sparkle to your project\, glitter and sequins will be available in class. (Don’t worry\, the process will prevent the glitter from getting everywhere!) \nSKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER\nYou should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed a few projects. Please email erin@pacificfabrics.com if you are unsure if your skill level is appropriate. \nPREREQUISITE: Sewing 101 or equivalent experience. Cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions).

SUMMARY:Knits 204: Sleeveless Tops & Dresses
DESCRIPTION:Sometimes all you want is a simple knit top without having to deal with separate sleeve pieces. Learn to make a relaxed tee with grown on sleeves and how adding binding and/or facings to a knit garment affects its ability to stretch. In class we will go over determining your size when using low stretch knit fabrics\, how stretchy your stitches truly need to be and easy ways to hem knits. \nThe Max tee is a boxy knit top with a muscle tee shoulder shape and a dropped armhole. Choose between a cropped or hip length finished with hem facings. You have multiple neckline options that include a neck facing\, rib neckband and a mock neckband. \nThe Square Neck Top is a boxy dolman sleeved top with a square neckline. It is slightly cropped and includes front pieces for both A/B and C/D cup sizes. \nSimplicity S9314 is a simple men’s knit top with a slight drop sleeve and a relaxed fit. \nThe Lodo is an elevated take on a basic t-shirt dress. It has a straight fit through the waist and hips and a slightly tapered hen to create a subtle cocoon shape. It has a V neck at the center front and an extended cap sleeve. Both the neckline and armholes are finished with a woven facing for stability and structure. Make it as a mid-calf or above the knee length dress or shorten it into a casual top. \nSKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER \nPREREQUISITE: Knits 201A/201B or equivalent experience. \nYou should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed a few projects. SUMMARY:Garment 204/ Flat Front Pants & Shorts (Series 2/2)
DESCRIPTION:*** This is the last day of a two day class that takes place on Saturday\, April 19th & 26th *** \nTo attend this class please CLICK HERE to sign up. SUMMARY:Garment 204: Flat Front Pants & Shorts (Series 1/2)
DESCRIPTION:*** This is the first day of a two day class that takes place on Tuesday\, June 3rd and 10th *** \nTo attend this class please register below.
