Last Minute Gifts

Posted by Janissa Grieger on Tuesday, December 18th, 2012

We all procrastinate sometimes and for us crafters, sometimes there's just not enough time in the day to get everything done but these projects are here to save the day!

Anyone can go to the store to buy something but to make a handmade gift for someone means you really love them!

If you're looking for a gift that you can sew up in a couple hours, check out Toastie Mittens   from Sisters' Common Thread. Debbie at the office made these with this adorable Petal Pusher fabric from Dear Stella. The directions in this pattern are awesome although Debbie says to use lots of pins to keep your layers in place.

She also quilted them in a zig zag pattern, so cute!

The Chore Girl Apron   is the perfect gift for the cook, barista, or anyone in your life that would love to dance around in this fun apron. I made mine complete with  Christmas and Cotton Couture   fabric (if you haven't tried these solids yet they are absolutely beautiful and soft). I love the ruffles and the girly touch of the flower. Instead of using the flower pattern included I decided to use the Clover Flower Frill Template and added a button from my stash to add a special touch. This apron took me only a few hours and the pattern is written in a quilt pattern style which makes cutting the pieces out and getting the most out of your yardage a snap.

If you rather knit or crochet a gift we have some new books that have some great patterns.

Knit in a Day for Baby and Crochet in a Day for Baby are full of easy, fast, patterns with yarns you can find at Pacfab, like Vanna's Choice , Sugar n Creme , a variety of Lion Brand yarns . I crocheted this little baby sweater and hat (the hat took about an hour).

Another great gift idea is the book Weekend Hats (perfect weather for this now)! Find this book in our stores .

Here's Megan at the Bremerton store modeling another hat I made from Weekend Hats

Keep checking our blog and other social networking sites for our 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways , we are giving away a book everyday until the 24th!

Happy Holiday Crafting!
