Tuesday Tip - No-Sew Costumes

Here's a tip for those of you who need to make a quick costume but don't have access to a sewing machine. This Cave Woman costume is not sewn together! The seams are all fused with paper-backed fusible tape.
Cut the pattern out as the instructions say then, instead of putting the right sides together, place your front piece right side up. Place the back piece next to it also right sides up. Use your Glue Glider Pro to apply the fusible web in the 5/8" seam allowance on each side of the front of the costume. Overlap the seam allowance from the back side of the costume, stick in place and fuse the two sides together with your iron. Repeat on the shoulder seam. Leave edges raw for that wild effect and enjoy your Halloween! This is also a great tool for adding ribbons and lace to garments and pillows, all without sewing a stitch! ~ Crafty Chris from Creative U |
