Tuesday Tip - Easy Borders For Your Table

Many of my inspirations come from fabric. I LOVE fabric - good thing I work in a fabric store! I am always looking for reasons to buy some new print that I've fallen in love with and lately my eye has been drawn to the repeating stripes often featured in quilting fabric collections. So, I was excited to find a great use for them while preparing for this month's Creative U! The Easy Striped Table Runner from The Quilt Company looks so beautiful made with these fun striped fabrics. And each table runner will look different depending on the stripe you use.
The instructions are super simple to follow and I found a tool that helps a lot, too. The Super 60 Degree Ruler from Alicia's Attic made cutting the angles a breeze and this table runner doesn't even need binding! Just sew the backing and batting right sides together and turn right side out. I used Warm and Natural's 18" wide Table Runner Batting, so I didn't need to cut up my quilt batting for a table runner. I don't have a picture yet, but you can see the results of my project at the June Creative U! See you soon! ~Crafty Chris |
