Honoring Dad With Heartfelt Stitching

Posted by Annette on Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

I remember fondly how pleased my husband was the year I made him a Hawaiian style shirt for Dad's Day. I'm not sure he liked the print or style, but he wore it proudly for quite awhile. It wasn't the shirt that meant so much, it was my heartfelt, handmade honor that he wore with pride.

We have fabulous Hawaiian Shirting Prints on sale June 3rd - 9th and we found some great patterns for you to stitch into heartfelt gifts for Dad. Take a look below:

Kwik-Sew Pants pattern 3793

If you're a sewing newbie, Kwik-Sew's Kwik-Start Pattern #3793 is just what you need. It's a great 'how-to-sew' way to make Dad a terrific pair of PJ Pants or Boxers that he will treasure. The Kwik-Start pattern collection is designed specifically for new sewists so, with a little help, tweens and teens can stitch a gift for Dad, too.

Kwik-Sew Men's Shirt Pattern #3792

What Dad wouldn't love a new shirt?! Especially one made by you! I love Kwik-Sew Men's Button-Up Pattern #3792. One of the great things about Kwik-Sew is that you just need one pattern for all the Dads in your life. Each pattern contains sizes S - XXL on sturdy pattern paper, so you can easily trace a pattern for everyone if you like.

Kwik-Sew Men's Shirt Pattern #3484

The simple lines of Kwik-Sew's Pattern #3484 make it perfect for our fabulous Hawaiian Shirtings! Hmmm? Maybe that's what my sweetie needs for Dad Day this year!

Quilter's Quarters Boy's Shirt pattern

Okay, I know this isn't a man size shirt, but wouldn't Dad love it if you made his little guy a matching shirt, too? Quilter's Quarters Boy's Shirt pattern is made from fat quarters, so just a bit of extra fabric will have you on the way to a smashing shirt for a young son or grandson. The pattern includes sizes 3 - 6. And what about the girls? Just put the buttons on the other side and you can make one for his favorite daughter, too!

Have fun with your Dad honoring sewing. It's a great way to say thanks!
