Houston Quilt Market 2007
A report from our newest buyer, Anna-Beth!

"This was my first quilt market, and I was so thrilled with all the exciting new products. Soon you'll get to see them too!

Alexander Henry's styling new Fashion for Home line, which was the talk of the market, has already arrived and McKenna Ryan's new line from Hoffman, Glacier Lights, hit our stores this last week. I met McKenna, and saw a sneak peek of the line of patterns she's working on to go with her fabrics. While she is still using raw edge appliqué, her newest designs break away from her landscape quilting lines and are more decorative inspirations, with gorgeous silhouettes and soothing words. Hoffman has more of their gorgeous batiks coming, too, including a selection of lovely rayon. Be on the lookout - we ordered them for all of our stores!

Michael Miller is joining us in the eco craft movement, releasing a line of organic cotton quilting and fashion fabrics, in soft neutrals and whites. You'll also see an update to the very popular Dick and Jane series, with fun panels, coordinates, and even books to accompany! Dick and Jane are coming into the Sixties, so expect bright colors, fun patterns, and racial diversity! Hooray!

Moda has a terrific line up of designers, and we picked the very best for our stores. Soft, pretty pastels and delicate florals are coming thanks to 3 Sisters, with their line Simplicity. Modern girls will love Posh, the new line from Chez Moi, which brings paisley and stylized florals in vibrant watercolors. American Jane is back, with another fun line of kid's themed retro prints, Wee Play.

There were wonderful quilt patterns everywhere - my two favorite new designers were found at the Ta Dah Designs booth, which specialized in yummy, bright quilts like "Saltwater Taffy" and "Citrus Twist," and Toad You Sew, who impressed me with their triple tested patterns - each pattern is tested by experts, then by experienced quilters, and finally, by novices, so they make sure every instruction is clear and correct! What a concept!

There was so much to see, so much to choose from - but we think we got the very best for you! New patterns and fabrics will be reaching our stores over the next few months, so stay tuned, and be sure to visit the stores to keep up with what's new!"
